New tech in upcoming 7L modular jacket to withstand downpours
The latest piece from UK-based outerwear brand 7L, due for release in September, incorporates the technical brand’s new wind and rain fabric technology, DownTek repellent and sustainable down.
The company said the new wind and rain technology on its Modular Down Outer will repel water and create a beading effect to protect the fabric during even heavy downpours. The interior +800 FP 90/10 water repelling down by DownTek, with down clusters that trap pockets of air. It’s made with 94% polyester and 6% spandex.
7L, so named for its seven-layer system of organising products and apparels, said its down’s DWR formula is free from PFCs and is Bluesign Approved. The jacket is called ‘modular’ as the wearer can remove the arms and store them internally within a pouch located in the back lining, and it can be link-zipped inside the brand’s waterproof shell.
