Adaptable children’s sneaker fits braces and orthotics
Children’s footwear brand Stride Rite has developed an adaptable sneaker designed to accommodate most children’s braces and orthotics.
Stride Rite said it engaged with parents via social media to identify specific needs when designing the shoe. The Journey Adaptable has a long, adjustable hook and loop strap that can be cut for a custom fit, two removable insoles layered to adjust the depth of the shoe, a pull tab to make shoes easier to put on and extra wide widths to accommodate most orthotics.
Naly Lee, director of product design, said: "Looking ahead, this is just the beginning. We are excited to incorporate more adaptable features into different silhouettes in the future and to continue being the solution for many parents who face challenges when it comes to finding shoes for their little ones."
