Textiles importer creates PPE division
Texas-based Nextt has established a healthcare supplies division, building on its existing supply chain for fabrics. Through the new division, called Nextt Shield, the company will distribute protective gear including N-95 face masks, gowns and other personal protective equipment (PPE) from India.
“Most PPE is made from fabric, so inspiration hit me when global pandemic conditions complicated the shipping of millions of dollars of textiles we typically supplied to US customers,” said CEO Arun Agarwal. “I fast-tracked the new division, and my biggest advantage was having an existing supply chain with credible and capable manufacturers in India.”
He added that while he hopes the high demand for pandemic-related supplies subsides, he expects the production and sales of medical supplies to be a long-term part of his business.
