Nanollose facilities unaffected by covid-19 restrictions

In its most recent quarterly report, Australian biomaterial technology company Nanollose said that its work on the production and processing of microbial cellulose at its Western Australian facilities was unaffected by covid-19 restrictions.

The company has also continued to advance a collaboration agreement with textile manufacturer Grasim, which has included exchanging key technical information and shipping microbial cellulose to Grasim for a trial fibre spinning.

Work with Chinese microbial cellulose supplier, Hainan Yeguo Foods, was said to resume as they have “supplied an improved sample for testing and trial processing, as a prelude to scale-up”.

Nanollose hasn’t been immune to effects of covid-19, however. To preserve capital, the report said, directors took a cut in pay and the company made other cost-saving moves. The company has also received $43,000 in government subsidies for covid-19 relief.
