Extra grip for any shoe on offer from Kahtoola
Arizona-based Kahtoola, which specialises in attachable and detachable spikes to give walkers and runners extra grip in tricky conditions, has launched a new product, EXOspikes, which it says is specifically for cross-terrain traction.
The company said the new spikes will work well for trail-runners, hikers and outdoor enthusiasts, especially in snowy or icy conditions. For each foot, there are 12 spikes on an elastomer harness that stretches over any brand of trail or hiking shoe.
These spikes offer three levels of traction because some have durable tungsten carbide tips that bite into ice, others have aluminium steps for gripping uneven surfaces and others have TPU lugs for grip on loose terrain.
Founder, Danny Giovale, said the new product was the result of more than 20 years’ design experience. He added: “This is a product that will really improve the quality of life for many active people when conditions are wintry and it will last them a very long time.”
