New brand director for Canterbury and Mitre

Sports group Pentland Brands has appointed a new global brand director for the two of its brands, Canterbury and Mitre. Jodie Soussan, who joined Pentland as commercial strategy director in 2018, has taken up the role.

Ms Soussan previously worked for a number of prominent consumer goods brands, including Procter & Gamble and Associated British Foods.

Chief executive, Chirag Patel, described her as having “a wealth of commercial and brand-building experience”.

For her part, Jodie Soussan said the collective goal of the Canterbury and Mitre teams would be to bring their products to more consumers by seeking to encourage more people to become involved in grass-roots rugby and football.

She replaces Charlotte Cox, who has been appointed as the group’s president for Europe. Ms Soussan will report to Penny Herriman, who is joining the Pentland Brands later this year as chief marketing officer.
