Teijin adds its voice to call for higher renewable energy targets
Fibre manufacturer Teijin has added its voice to those of a group calling on the Japanese government to commit to a “more ambitious” target to increase use of renewable energy to at least 40% by 2030. The government had previously set a target of at least 22%.
Teijin made the announcement as part of its support of a programme called the Japan Climate Initiative (JCI). The JCI describes itself as a network of Japanese corporations that are “committed to strengthening communication and the exchange of best strategies and solutions among all entities in Japan that are working to combat climate change”.
