Additive technology from Parx proves effective against covid-19

18/03/2021

Specialist developer of antibacterial plastic technology Parx Materials has said new test results demonstrate that its Saniconcentrate additive technology can reduce the covid-19 virus on surfaces by up to 99% in 24 hours.

Unlike other antimicrobial options, the Netherlands-based company said it had achieved this without biocides, leaching or “harmful side effects”.

It said that, with Saniconcentrate, it had created a way to make plastic “intrinsically resistant to bacteria and viruses”. It said it had used a trace element “abundantly found in the human body” in the development of the technology, making it biocompatible and safe.

Parx Materials said the applications for Saniconcentrate were limitless and confirmed it would look for investment to accelerate the process for scaling up the technology.
