Graduate training programme to resume for AWI

14/06/2021

Research and promotions body Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) will relaunch its graduate training programme on July 1.

Successful applicants will gain “a thorough understanding” of the wool supply chain, from fibre to fashion, AWI said, allowing it to develop “future wool industry leaders”.

Chief executive, Stuart McCullough, said AWI was focused on “attracting the best people to the wool industry and on retaining them”.

The programme will start in March and run for 18 months, with components including on-farm research, innovation, education, services to woolgrowers, global market and business services. If international travel restrictions allow, some of the programme could be with overseas supply chain partners too.
AWI has run its graduate training programme since 2018 but did not run in 2020 owing to covid-19.
