Recycled wool plays a key role in new Isbjörn hoodie
Technical outdoor childrenswear brand Isbjörn will launch a new hoodie and jumpsuit called Shaun for the spring-summer 2022 season. The products will contain 46% recycled wool from Italy. The rest of the material will be from synthetic fibres.
Prato-based Milior will be the supplier of the recycled wool for the Shaun garments. Isbjörn has explained that its partner’s recycling process prevents useful material from going to waste and saves water and chemicals.
It said the recycled wool and synthetic blend would ensure that Shaun garments provide comfortable thermal performance for active children of all ages. The colour palette is also inspired by nature, including PineSilver, LunarBeam and PearlBlue.
“For young explorers looking for an adventure buddy, Shaun is there to provide sustainable warmth, whether worn alone or as a midlayer,” said Maria Frykman, founder and chief executive of the Swedish brand. “Using recycled wool will keep kids naturally comfortable during all outdoor activities, thanks to its high breathability and ability to react changes in body temperature, but it also helps to protect the precious planet they play on.”
