Boulder-based brand wants TMC technology in its products
A new outdoor brand based in Boulder, Colorado, Artilect, is to work with TMC to develop performance fabrics and products using Nuyarn spinning technology.
TMC (The Merino Company) acquired Nuyarn in 2013 and began using its specialised technology, centred on wrapping a superfine Merino wool yarn around a nylon core, to create lightweight, durable, stretchy fabrics.
Artilect intends to use Nuyarn in its autumn-winter 2021-2022 collection of baselayers, midlayers and accessories.
It said on announcing its collaboration with TMC that these products would have fast drying times, a high level of durability, reduced wind permeability and more loft, allowing for better thermal efficiency at lighter weights, and odour-resistance. It added that all of these properties would last for the lifetime of the products.
