Teijin to review its targets for CO2 reduction
Fibre manufacturer Teijin has said it will carry out a review of its sustainability targets in 2025 with a view to making them more ambitious.
Teijin had set itself a target of reducing its total CO2 emissions by 20% by 2030. At the start of August, however, it said it would aim for a 30% cut instead. Its emissions in 2018 are the baseline measurement for this target.
In a further statement, Shuichi Osaki, who has responsibility for promoting the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals across the group, has said a review of this target will take place in 2025.
Mr Osaki said: “We are likely to implement even more robust environmental measures and further raise targets that we believe are possible to achieve ahead of schedule.”
