Home fitness specialist launches own apparel brand
Interactive fitness platform Peloton is to launch its own clothing brand, Peloton Apparel.
The inaugural line comprises fitness clothing made from a range of proprietary fabrics. These include Cadent, a stretch jersey, breathable, moisture-wicking material in a polyester-spandex blend, and Lite Lines, a performance knit jersey that blends polyester, lyocell and spandex with a higher level of quick-dry functionality.
There is also Move Mission, a high-gauge, nylon-spandex interlock fabric with moderate-to-high compression that Peloton says will work well during “high-performance activity” and Essential, a quick-drying, high-stretch fabric, also in nylon and spandex, with quick-dry and light compression properties.
All pieces have been wear-tested by Peloton members and instructors during workouts across the platform’s various fitness modalities.
The company began selling apparel in 2014, in direct response to member demand, working with a number of partner brands to make small, seasonal collaborative collections. Its vice-president for apparel, Jill Foley, said she was thrilled to launch the new private-label line.
She said: “With each collection, we’re offering reliable pieces that support your sweatiest days, your busiest days, your rest days and beyond.”
