Viscose fibre producer Kelheim Fibres has signed a letter of intent to set up a long-term commercial partnership with Renewcell, a start-up specialising in producing new materials from recycled textiles.

They will work together to develop commercial-scale production of high-quality viscose fibres from up to 10,000 tonnes per year of Renewcell’s Circulose, the 100% textile recycled material it produces.

Renewcell chief executive, Patrik Lundström, said the initiative would prevent waste and reduce the need for virgin resources.
