Trail running shoe with carbon plates from Hoka
Performance footwear brand Hoka will make its Tecton X trail shoe at authorised retailers across Europe from May 1. The product is the first trail shoe Hoka has made with carbon plating.
It has a two parallel carbon fibre plates in the midsole, running lengthwise toe to heel. Hoka has said this design allows for “significant ground feel underfoot” to help runners sense uneven terrain.
The brand’s vice-president for product, Gretchen Weimer, said Hoka was “generating unexpected ways of incorporating performance technology throughout our product line, with the end goal always being to help make running easier”.
