Outdoor enthusiast takes European marketing role for Patagonia

Patagonia has appointed Tyler LaMotte as its marketing director for Europe, with the outdoor brand’s European headquarters in Amsterdam as his base.

The company’s general manager for Europe, Matthijs Visch, described the new marketing director as having a proven track record in delivering “transformational business initiatives” for global brands, a lifelong outdoor enthusiast and a committed advocate for environmental causes.

This marks a return to Patagonia for Mr LaMotte; earlier in his career he was global director of its snowsports, performance baselayer, trail running and accessories business unit. He later held senior marketing positions at companies including adidas, Keen, Salomon and Apple.

He said he was excited to return to Patagonia “at such a critical time for the planet”.
