Weighted clothing could be ‘new sportswear category’
US-based start-up Omorpho, which uses microweights embedded in clothing to increase resistance, has closed a $6 million seed funding round.

The investment was led by venture capital firm KB Partners, with significant participation from Greenchain Capital and MSG Sports.

Co-Founders Stefan Olander and Ben Williams launched the brand in November 2021. The collection, Gravity Sportswear, strategically places small amounts of weight across the body.

KB Partners founder and Omorpho board member Keith Bank said: “The team possesses that rare combination of relevant experience, strong operating skills, extensive marketing savvy and real grit that we like to invest behind. They are well on their way to creating an entirely new category of sportswear.”

The latest funding brings the total investment in the company to $13 million.
