Shoe celebrates LeBron James’s 20-year career
Sports brand Nike has introduced a new shoe in the range it offers in honour of basketball star LeBron James.
It describes this shoe, the LeBron XX, as the first in the range to debut as a low-top.
It has a carbon fibre midfoot shank to provide energy return and torsional rigidity, and uses the company’s proprietary Air Zoom technology for cushioning and impact protection.
Senior footwear designer for men’s basketball at Nike, Jason Petrie, said the shoe aims to celebrate LeBron James’s professional career, which will have spanned 20 years next year (the XX in the shoe’s name is the number 20 in Roman numerals), but also with the next generation of basketball players in mind.
