Skiwear collection shows Patagonia’s PFC-free intent
Outdoor brand Patagonia has said that 78% of garments in its autumn 2022 range that have water-repellency protection are free from per and polyfluoroalkyl substances.
It has described this as good progress towards meeting a commitment to converting all of its water-repellant finishes to non-fluorinated versions by 2024.
The brand has said its Storm Shift Series of snow apparel is a good example of the PFC-free options in the autumn 2022 range. It has called the Storm Shift collection “a collective milestone in PFC-free storm protection”.
The fabrics, membrane material and durable water repellent finishes are from Gore-Tex and contain no perfluorinated chemicals.
