Progress for YKK
Zip fastenings company YKK completed a conversion to 100% renewable energy at another of its plants in fiscal year 2021, taking the total across its global set-up to 11 sites that run on renewables. It released the details in a new report on December 6.
It said in the same report that it has increased its use of plant-based and recycled fibres in its zipper textiles by 7% compared to the previous year. The company also reduced waste to landfill by 272 tonnes compared to the previous year.
It also reported a saving of 7.5% in its water consumption since the baseline year of 2018.
