High-end outdoor footwear brand Aku has reported revenues for 2022 of €29.2 million, an increase of 28.6% year on year.

The Montebelluna-based company said it had achieved 14% growth in exports to European countries and 99% growth in shipments of its shoes and boots to Asia. Overall, it brought in 82% of revenues from exports.

It now has four production plants, with two facilities in Serbia and one in Romania complementing the factory at its headquarters in Veneto in northern Italy.

Chief executive, Paolo Bordin, said he was satisfied with the results Aku achieved “a difficult year, characterised by numerous problems affecting the entire supply chain in our industry”. There were, for example, delays in deliveries during the summer, the company’s most important season.

Mr Bordin said Aku would continue to develop “products of absolute excellence” for the outdoor sector, particularly for mountaineering, trekking and hiking. But he said the company’s commitment to developing professional footwear for environmental, safety and military applications would also increase.
