27/03/2023

Finland’s ministry of economic affairs and employment published a study on March 24 to set out the country’s position in the “international competitive environment in the textile and fashion industry” and outlines opportunities that Finnish companies have.

It identifies three main areas of competitiveness potential for Finland.

The first of these is new material solutions, including bio-based and recycled fibres. Secondly, it said Finland has opportunities in automated recycling processes and better supply chain optimisation. It said sustainable brand building is a third area of potential for the country.

“Finland has the potential to become a notable player in the current transformation towards a sustainable textile and fashion industry,” the report concluded.
