Sustainable dyestuffs library is Fashion For Good’s newest resource

Textile industry innovation incubator Fashion For Good has made a new digital tool available to its partner organisations to help them choose sustainable dyestuffs. It has compiled a new library of products for dyeing, classifying them according to performance and environmental metrics.

Amsterdam-based Fashion For Good said the library would help “accelerate the shift from harmful chemistry to more sustainable options”.

Corporate partners including adidas, Patagonia, Inditex and Bestseller supported the initiative.
Initially, 15 products will go into the range and, over the course of a year, these will undergo lab and pilot trials to make sure they are safe for commercial use on various textile substrates.

On completing this initial project, Fashion for Good will continue to develop the library with additional innovators, materials, fabric constructions, testing methods and innovative colouration machinery.
