Multiple versions of Sailor jacket in new North Sails collection
Performance clothing brand North Sails Apparel has included four different iterations of its Sailor jacket in its latest collection.
The original Sailor jacket is available in a new military green as well as in bright orange on top of a range of evergreen colours is one of the four versions.
It is joined by the North Tech Sailor, which is available in navy blue, black and grey violet. This jacket is made from a recycled, water-repellent and windproof softshell material.
Also in the collection is the Performance Sailor, which the company describes as being “inspired by the rigours of racing”. It has a recycled, windproof, showerproof and breathable shell and a fleece lining.
The women’s Sailor is the fourth new piece. Here, the silhouette is cut slimmer and crafted with 100% recycled materials. It is windproof, water-repellent, and “made for everywhere comfort and effortless heritage style”, the brand has said.
The Connecticut-based company, which makes sails as well as clothing, has also named three new brand ambassadors.
Norwegian sailor and marine biologist Andreas Heide (pictured) has joined the team that represents North Sails’ heritage in innovation, performance and sustainability, as is Welsh biologist and wildlife broadcaster Lizzie Daly, and Devon-based professional kiteboarder and three-time Youth Freestyle world champion, Tom Bridge.
