Rise in value, fall in volume for Portugal’s textile exports
Portugal’s national textile and apparel association, ATP, has reported export values of just over €1 billion for the industry in the first two months of this year, an increase of 1% year on year.
The figure includes revenues from exports of finished apparel and home textile products, as well as of fabric, yarns and fibres. ATP calculated a total export volume of 83,000 tonnes for these products over the two months.
These totals represent an increase in revenue of 1% year on year, but a fall in volume of 12%.
