Record year for Mizuno

Sports group Mizuno has reported record revenues for its most recent business year.

In the 12 months to March 31, 2023, Mizuno earned sales revenues of 212 billion yen, which the group said was a record total and an increase of 22.8% year on year.

On presenting its results, company used an exchange rate of 130.78 yen to the dollar, giving the Japanese currency a value that was 16% lower than the year before. This means its most recent result equated to around $1.6 billion.

Sales in Japan contributed 131.5 billion yen, growth of 15.1% year on year. In the Americas, it achieved sales worth 31.1 billion yen, up by 31.5%. The figure for Europe was 25.1 billion yen, an increase of 40.1%, while in the rest of Asia and Oceania, Mizuno’s sales revenues reached 24.3 billion yen, up by 43.8%.

Footwear contributed the highest amount, with 63.7 billion yen, an increase of 34.9%. Apparel’s figures were revenues of 57.8 billion yen and an increase of 15.9%, while those for equipment were 55.2 billion yen in sales, growth of 20.5%.

In terms of individual sports, Mizuno’s top-three were baseball, golf and running.
