Cotton verification service launched by Eurofins
Textile testing solutions provider Eurofins has launched a new cotton origin-verification testing service.
The move comes two years after Eurofins won approval from the International Standards Organisation for its proficiency in testing organic cotton.
Its new service will use a combination of analytical techniques including Stable Isotope Ratio Analysis (SIRA), which it will use to determine if a cotton sample is consistent with the claimed origin. Samples from the whole value chain, from raw cotton to finished articles, can be tested to verify claimed origin from all key cotton growing regions based on their environmental signature.
Eurofins said this service would help the global textile industry offer greater transparency and traceability, empower stakeholders and ensure supply chain integrity.
