Issue two of WSA magazine available now
A new issue of WSA magazine is now available, providing, as always, analysis of eye-catching developments in performance textiles for use in sports and outdoor products.
A theme that runs through a number of the articles this time is the increasing use of plant-based raw materials to make textile fibres. We recount the strides that companies as diverse as established industrial group Toray and start-up Genomatica have taken to make nylon more renewable. There is also a detailed update of developments in using plant-based raw materials in manmade cellulosic fibres and another on plants as an interesting source of alternative down-like materials.
We conclude with an exclusive conversation with the managing director of the Fashion For Good innovation platform, Katrin Ley. She says the time has come for some of the innovations the incubator platform has supported to scale up.
We hope you enjoy reading every article.
