Three-year deal between Infinited Fiber and German textile recycler

Specialist fibre developer Infinited Fiber Company has revealed that it has continued its work to build a supplier network for textile waste feedstock in parallel with its plan to build a flagship factory for production of its Infinna fibre.
Infinna is a regenerated fibre made from post-consumer cotton-rich textile waste.
One new source of textile waste that the Finnish company will use to make the fibre is German textile sorter and recycling group SOEX. Earlier this year, SOEX entered into a new agreement with Infinited Fiber to supply 5,000 tonnes of post-consumer textile waste each year for the next three years.
SOEX collects post-consumer textile waste through municipal and commercial street collections, as well as through a take-back system that enables fashion houses and retailers to collect pre-worn clothing from customers in their stores or online. Products that are unfit for second-hand sale go to SOEX for automated sorting and recycling. In this set-up, artificial intelligence recognises individual garments and sorts them by material or colour.
