Performance materials developer Freudenberg has expanded a facility it already had in place at Sant’Omero in Abruzzo in eastern Italy. As part of the project it has now established a competence centre there for finishing and coating apparel interlinings.

The company said customers would benefit by having faster and more flexible order processing in the short term. But int the longer term, Freudenberg said the expanded facility would also improve Freudenberg’s options for offering customers products guaranteed to originate in Europe. 

New finishing and coating technology is now in place at the site. Its specialism will be the production of base materials for apparel interlinings.
