European outdoor market passes €6 billion in 2022

The European Outdoor Group (EOG) has released new data from its State of Trade (SoT) market research programme. It said sales of outdoor products in all categories had increased in volume and in value in 2022.

It covers products in the apparel, footwear and hardware markets sold by more than 100 outdoor companies in Europe. The report puts the total value for 2022 at €6.1 billion, which represents growth of 11.5% year on year. The volume of units sold increased by 6.3% to almost 265 million items.

EOG general secretary, Arne Strate, said: “The figures once again demonstrate the resilience and appeal of the outdoor sector.”
