Brand president at Sorel steps down

09/06/2023

Outdoor group Columbia Sportswear has announced that Mark Nenow, president of its Sorel outdoor footwear brand, has resigned from his position on health grounds.

Mr Nenow joined the company in 2007 to lead footwear. He recognised an opportunity to transform the Sorel brand from primarily a men’s winter work boot into an all-season women-led brand. He became president of the Sorel brand in 2015 and developed collections of boots, sandals, sneakers and more. Sorel achieved sales of $347 million in 2022.

Chief executive, Tim Boyle, said Mark Nenow’s leadership had been “invaluable to this company”.

The group announced that Craig Zanon, senior vice-president of its emerging brands, would lead Sorel while it searches for a replacement.
