Lightest ever hiking shoe from Keen
Portland-based outdoor footwear brand Keen has produced its lightest ever hiking shoe, the Zionic.
The shoe’s upper is constructed from high-performance, rip-stop recycled mesh material, with thermoplastic polyurethane overlays to provide what the brand has called “extra durability and protection in exposed areas”.
It also has a waterproof, breathable membrane, an air-injected midsole with stability shank to deliver lightweight, underfoot cushioning and support, and a removable polyurethane insole with arch support “for long-lasting comfort and reduced foot fatigue on long excursions”.
Other features include anti-odour functionality and a heel ‘crash pad’, where the outsole is wrapped around the heel to help absorb impact.
