Yarn Expo organiser puts value on ‘eco fibre’ market
Sales of what it refers to as “eco fibre” generated revenues of $14.9 billion in 2022 for producers in Asia-Pacific, according to exhibition organiser Messe Frankfurt.
And, in the build-up to its Yarn Expo event, which will take place in parallel with Intertextile Shanghai from August 28-30, it said this figure is set to grow by more than 9% per year between now and 2030.
It took this growth figure from San Francisco-based research firm Grand View Research and said it would be driven by strong demand for sustainable textiles, especially from manufacturers in China.
