A buyer for Decathlon’s business in Russia

Sports group Decathlon is to sell what remains of its business in Russia to local group ARM LLC. The same distributor has also taken over the business in Russia that fashion retail group Mango ran on a franchise basis.

Decathlon entered the Russian market in 2006 and, before the start of the war with Ukraine in 2022, built up a network of 60 stores and 2,500 employees there.

Following the outbreak of war, Decathlon reduced its number of stores in Russian territory and has now received clearance from the authorities there to sell the remaining 36 sites (35 stores and one warehouse) to ARM LLC.

French media said 22 of the remaining stores are in and around Moscow.
