Retail group JD Sports has increased its investment in Poland-based MIG, taking full ownership.

It acquired a 60% stake in MIG in 2021, reserving the right to acquire the other 40% at a future date. It has now exercised this right and has taken full control of the Polish group.

JD Sports chief executive, Régis Schultz, said the move would help accelerate the development of JD in Central and Eastern Europe. “Increasing JD’s presence in the region through new store openings and further investment in our omnichannel capabilities is a key part of [our] strategic growth plan,” he said.
