Carbon fibre expansion for Toray

Japanese group Toray has announced an expansion programme at the production facilities in France of its Toray Carbon Fibers Europe subsidiary.

The expansion will increase production of medium- and high-modulus carbon fibres at the plant in Abidos in south-west France from 5,000 tonnes per year now to 6,000 tonnes per year from 2025 onwards.

It said growing demand for carbon fibres in Europe was the motivation for its decision.
