Two new shoe styles from Altra
Running shoe brand Altra has launched two new styles, the Via Olympus 2 and the Provision 8.
At the time of the launch, Altra said the standout feature of the Via Olympus 2 (pictured) is an updated midsole compound, engineered from its Ego Max proprietary midsole foam to offer a softer underfoot feel. This midsole design provides a 33mm stack height. The shoe also has an engineered mesh upper for comfort and breathability.
For the Provision 8, the midsole foam of choice is from Altra’s Ego range. This shoe also comes with Medial GuideRail technology, which the company says acts “like a highway guide to help tired feet and provide support”.
The brand remains committed to a rocker-shape geometry in its shoes, saying this better resembles the natural contour of the foot and allows for “a smoother and more dynamic transition from heel strike to toe-off”.
