Benefits of Texglobal project under review
France-based start-up booster platform Techtera has announced a review phase in which it will weigh up its work so far on a project called Texglobal.
Launched in 2020 for, originally, two years, Texglobal was co-funded by the European Commission and aimed to help small and medium enterprises in the European textile industry “integrate their activities into global value chains”. It set out specifically to encourage smaller European companies to seek partnership opportunities with larger textile players in Mexico, the US and Vietnam.
Owing to the covid-19 pandemic, Texglobal won an extension and ran until August 2023.
Techtera’s initial review has revealed that, in total, 94 European companies benefited from taking part in the project. Thirty-six companies took part in trade mission trips to meet potential partners in the target countries.
So far, 12 commercial agreements have resulted from those discussions, with others still subject to negotiation.
