Freudenberg Performance Materials is to have a new chief executive. Dr Andreas Raps will take up the role on January 1, replacing Dr Frank Heislitz.

Since 2016, Dr Raps has been chief executive of Eagle Burgmann, a specialist developer of industrial sealing solutions that Freudenberg set up as a joint-venture company with Japanese group EKK.

He said he would seek to drive growth in his new role by focusing on customers, digitalisation and sustainability.

Freudenberg will also have a new chief finance officer, with Marco Altherr taking up the position. He has worked in the same role at Vibracoustic, another Freudenberg company, since 2020.
