Innovation on show from Marchi & Fildi at Florence show
Yarn manufacturing group Marchi & Fildi launched a new collection at the most recent Pitti Filati exhibition, which took place in Florence from January 24-26.
It highlighted its selection of natural, certified fibres and biodegradable blends in the collection, which is for fashion season spring-summer 2025. These included GOTS-certified cottons, either in opaque or mercerised versions, and linen blends in fine and very fine yarns and in an extended range of colours.
It described the colours it previewed as “summery and luscious”, including intense pinks and vitamin oranges.
At Pitti Filati, it also showcased finished garments created by students at the ITS TAM Technical School for Tailoring and Knitwear in Biella, where Marchi & Fildi has its headquarters. This exercise, involving second-year students at the technical school, is part of a project called Micro-Macro, which is now in its third edition.
