Paris event to cover traceability and environmental impact
A fashion industry event dedicated entirely to traceability and environmental impact will take place in Paris on April 11. The event, Fashion Act, will host 12 exhibitors and a number of conference sessions.
Most exhibitors at the event will be technology firms that offer solutions that they say can help clothing brands calculate their environmental impact and identify opportunities for reducing it.
In the first of the two conferences, speakers will reflect on environmental labelling of textiles in France. This was first announced in 2020 as part of the proposals for France’s new anti-waste legislation, AGEC. The industry began trials in 2022. The April 11 conference will consider how these trials have gone and look at next steps.
Later in the day, there will be conference sessions on product environmental footprint category rules (PEFCR) for clothing and footwear in Europe, and a testimonial from the Alliance for European Flax-Linen & Hemp on its experience of traceability and environmental impact.
