Cotton project brings Cargill, Target and FibreTrace together
Verification technology solution FibreTrace has announced a new partnership with retail group Target and agribusiness Cargill.
FibreTrace’s technology works by integrating luminescent pigments into raw fibres. In this project, the pigments will go into raw cotton. The pigments can be tracked and identified across the supply chain.
This partnership will involve marking 50,000 tonnes of US and Brazilian cotton in the first 12 months. It started with new-crop US cotton in November 2023.
“We hope that this partnership will inspire a ripple effect of change, demonstrating to other companies what is possible,” said FibreTrace founder and managing director, Danielle Statham.
