The managing director in Europe of outdoor brand Black Diamond Equipment, Stephan Hagenbusch, is to join the European business of Patagonia.

He will move to Amsterdam to become Patagonia’s marketplace director, overseeing wholesale, e-commerce and retail activities for the brand, as well as supporting engagement with customers and communities across Europe.

Before joining Black Diamond five years ago, Stephan Hagenbusch held a series of senior roles at Amer Sports.

Patagonia’s general manager in Europe, Nina Hajikhanian, said the brand had sought “someone with a mix of technical expertise and creativity, who shares our passion for outdoor sports and brings a healthy dose of down-to-earth collaboration” for the role.
