Founder waxes lyrical about new Forloh trousers
Montana-based technical outdoor clothing brand Forloh has said the ripstop fabric it has used in a new product offers 50% more abrasion-resistance, water-resistance and protection from thorns than previous fabrics it has used.
The product in question, the Brush To Mountain (BTM) Pro Pants, uses a waxed nylon-cotton blend. It is this wax emulsion treatment that provide the extra performance, according Forloh’s founder and chief executive, Andy Techmanski.
“It’s all about the wax,” he has said. “And the emulsion treatment can be reapplied in the field using one of our wax bars in five minutes or less.”
The pants also offer breathability, ease of movement, and comfort features, the brand added, in part thanks to four-way stretch fabric panelling placed throughout and zippered side-vents.
“Our goal is always to push the technology and materials, and the BTM Pro reflects that,” Andy Techmanski said.
The product is entirely sourced and made in the US, a specialism of the brand’s.
