Pressure on prices hurts BASF in first half
Chemicals group BASF has reported first-half revenues of nearly €33.7 billion, which represents a fall of 9.7% compared to the first six months of last year.
Its materials segment, which includes monomers and performance materials, contributed €3.4 billion, down by 5.3% year on year.
Group chairman, Dr Markus Kamieth, said the volume of sales in most segments had been good during the six-month period, but he pointed out that there was still “pressure on prices”.
