Intertek steps away from organic cotton certification in India

Testing and certification body Intertek has voluntarily stepped down from certifying organic cotton in India.

As of August 13, accreditation body ANAB, a subsidiary of the American National Standards Institute, said it had accepted the voluntary suspension of Intertek relating to certification services for the organic content standard (OCS) in India.

This suspension halts all OCS-related activities at Intertek’s office in India. ANAB has said that clients of that office cannot be serviced by other Intertek offices at this time.
