The International Cotton Association (ICA) has confirmed the programme for its annual trade event, which will take place in Liverpool on October 16 and 17.

It will open with a panel session moderated by Bill Ballenden from agricultural trading company Louis Dreyfus. The discussion will address the current legislative environment, how it might affect the cotton supply chain and what the opportunities are for the cotton community to influence it.

Panelists include Eva Bille from public relations consultancy Hill & Knowlton, Elisabeth van Delden from natural fibres representative body Make the Label Count, and Eric Trachtenberg, a member of the International Cotton Advisory Committee.

Speaking of the session, Bill Ballenden said: “The session will aim to highlight key legislative frameworks that are either in place or in the pipeline. The panel will look at specific cases, discuss how these might be enforced and how this could affect the demand for cotton within the textile industry.”
