Platinum plaudits for Perstorp
A year after winning gold from evidence-based sustainability assessment platform EcoVadis, textile chemicals company Perstorp has gone one better.
A gold award in 2023 put the Malmo-based manufacturer of polyesters, polyurethane, plasticisers and polymer additives among the top 5% of companies in its sector.
Now, EcoVadis has awarded Perstorp a platinum medal, putting it in the top 1% of all the companies it has assessed for sustainability, covering environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.
EcoVadis launched in 2007 and, since then, has built up a global network of more than 130,000 rated companies.
“It is encouraging to see that our systematic approach to sustainability is showing results,” said the company’s vice-president for sustainability, Anna Berggren. “With focus, dedication and a large portion of courage, it is possible to overcome the chemical industry’s sustainability challenges.”
