Three consecutive quarters of order growth for Rieter
Textile machinery developer Rieter has reported receiving orders with a total value of almost 630 million Swiss francs in the first nine months of 2024.
The Swiss company said this figure represented an increase of 40% year on year. It also said growth for the third quarter of 2024 had been almost 80% and added that this had been its third quarter of growth in succession.
Rieter said this growth had come in spite of “the noticeable downturn in consumer sentiment”, which it said had “a further dampening effect throughout the entire textile value chain”.
It confirmed that the market environment in the first nine months of this year had been characterised by “restrained investment in new machinery” in almost all regions. But it said China had been the exception.
